Ashley Cooke
About
Born in Wisconsin, raised between California and Florida, and now in Tennessee, Ashley embodies a unique blend of coastal and country. She was singing before she could speak, but it was when a family member surprised her with an acoustic guitar that her love for songwriting and performing truly emerged. Ashley and her sister formed a country-pop duo in their early teens where they toured across the country at fairs and festivals, wrote songs on Nashville’s Music Row with #1 songwriters like Alissa Moreno, Bridgette Tatum, and Emily Shackelton, and were fortunate enough to record those songs with a Grammy Award-winning engineer, Chad Carlson. Their first single, Stepping Stone, reached over 20,000 spins on country radio and the Official Music Video premiered on AXS TV. They also had the opportunity to perform the National Anthem at Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco Giants, Miami Marlins, and Nashville Predators games. Many sisters don’t get the chance to pour their hearts into something they both love together, and The Lockets was an amazing endeavor for Ashley and her sister to do just that. However, as the girls have grown into women, the sister duo is taking a hiatus while each of them pursues their individual journeys. The sound Ashley is developing as a solo artist is strongly influenced by Maren Morris and Colbie Callait and has hints of many different genres while being rooted in country. Whether in a songwriting room or on a stage, music has been and will continue to be engrained in her for years to come.
