Born in Louis Trichardt, South Africa to Sri Lankan Tamil refugee parents, Ecca Vandal moved to Australia as a child and studied at the Victorian College of the Arts. She released her self-titled debut album in 2017 and the follow-up Looking For People to Unfollow on 22 May 2026.
