Freddy Jones Band
About
Rock / Blues / Folk Rock
Once labeled as “darlings of Triple A Radio”, Freddy Jones Band has had a storied history at the format. Catchy sing along songs like In a Daydream and Take The Time reached #1 on the charts and others like Hold on to Midnight, Wonder, Waitress, and Mystic Buzz kept the band in programmer’s hearts and ears as top ten charters. Three time Grammy winning producer/engineer Justin Niebank and label partner Timm Martin rediscovered the songwriting duo when their single Home Thing effortlessly found its way onto the Triple A charts. Plans for a new full length Freddy Jones Band project became a hot topic of conversation backstage at shows.
The founding members Marty Lloyd and Wayne Healy began writing and crafting songs with Niebank during informal demo sessions surrounding shows in the band’s strongest markets. FJB audiences were treated to new material in vulnerable and raw acoustic form straight from the writing sessions. The feedback was strong and obvious. Fans were singing along by the second hook and posting videos by the next morning! Tracking began at The Castle Recording Studios in Franklin, Tenn. With some of Nashville’s most celebrated studio musicians lending a hand. Most notably were bass player Michael Rhodes, and guitarists Tom Bukovak and Jedd Hughes. All five original FJB members participated in the recordings. From top to bottom this album features the band’s infectious songwriting, vocals, and shimmering guitar work. Catchy vocals and guitars weave through pop melodies, modern textures and classic American acoustic instrumentation. For all of the charting success the band has had, and all of the fans that were amassed from relentless touring, FJB may just be in it’s finest hour and sitting on its soon to be most popular work to date!
