Like a story from the silver screen, it is not often you hear about two brothers traveling halfway around the world, leaving their family and friends, to fulfill a common dream. In the summer of 2006, this fairytale began in Minneapolis, Minnesota when the Swedish Widman brothers traveled across the ocean, fused their Swedish pop with Midwestern indie-rock, and created Love in October. Fans describe LiO as "Motion City Soundtrack meets Ok Go." Their sound is highlighted by aggressive drums and melodic pop hooks, but most notably Erik's versatile voice. Beyond the music, Love in October's unconventional style can only be defined as eclectic, with live shows containing not only music, but also hilarious improv Broadway theater skits and occasional retro dance moves.
