MURA MASA
About
The Guernsey-born, London-based producer and multi-instrumentalist's debut LP (Anchor Point/Downtown/Geffen) was hailed as "a feast of sounds and flavors" (NPR Music), "forward thinking, irresistible" (The FADER), and "13 fanciful, introspective, brightly-shining songs" (Billboard), with further praise from The New York Times (who named album opener "Messy Love" one of their top songs of 2017), Pitchfork, and Noisey. It's earned the 21-year-old producer his first-ever GRAMMY nominations in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category and the Best Recording Package (with photography by Yoni Lappin, and additional photography by Salim Adams).
With a live set called "euphoric genre-hopping" by the LA Times, Mura Masa's live performance brings the best of his "masterful mix of styles and sounds" (NPR Music) to life.
'Mura Masa' (Anchor Point/Downtown/Geffen) represents the artist as both a curator of voices and subcultures, and an auteur of sounds with collaborations from A$AP Rocky, Charli XCX, Damon Albarn, Christine & The Queens, Desiigner, Bonzai, and Nao and more. Written and inspired by his adoptive home of South London after moving from the geographically isolated island of Guernsey, 'Mura Masa' has been met with praise from fans and critics alike.
