Catherine Grace Garner, known professionally as Slayyyter, began releasing music independently on SoundCloud and self-released her eponymous mixtape in September 2019. Her debut studio album Troubled Paradise arrived in June 2021 and she followed with Starfucker in September 2023, which was her first album to chart on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
