RED BULL SPIN OFF MAKES A SPLASH IN CHICAGO
After the success of Red Bull Stalen Ros in Europe, Red Bull Spin Off will make its U.S. debut in the Windy City.
Red Bull Spin Off is a wild ride like no other —a thrilling tandem bicycle challenge over a water obstacle course, inspired by iconic Chicago landmarks and local traditions.Building on the success of the Red Bull Stalen Ros series in Europe—where thousands of spectators watch teams of two navigate a narrow obstacle course over water on custom-builtbicycles—Red Bull Spin Off brings the same excitement to Chicago for its first-ever U.S. appearance. Teams will design and build their own non-motorized, one-of-a-kind crafts, and push them to the limit to complete the course as fast as possible.
This fun-spirited and athletic challenge will feature 40 teams and 80 total participants from across the U.S. Each team will be evaluated on three key criteria: creativity, showmanship, and race time. Judges will score each team based on the originality, ingenuity, and overall design of their tandem craft; how they engage with the crowd and the course; and the total time it takes them to get from the start to the finish line.
As for the course, participants can expect a mix of obstacles —from narrow, curving routes to seesaw hills. The elements of the course will reflect the Windy City where it’s debuting —including thematic iconography representing iconic landmarks and local attractions. From skyline-inspired features to unique nods to Chicago’s neighborhood staples, the course will celebrate the city’s character and put every team to the test.
Red Bull Spin Off will feature a competitive playing field made up of local participants and personalities, setting the stage for unexpected moments and crowd-favorite wipeouts. With past Red Bull Stalen Ros events hitting several notable locations across Europe —including Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Finland, and the Netherlands —as well as Chile, Red Bull Spin Off is set to deliver the same unforgettable moments for competitors and fans in Chicago.
