About
Ruby Rae Rojas owns and operates Ruby Rae's Hideaway, a clandestine supper club near Milwaukee’s airport that has quietly slipped into obscurity.
She clings to her past way of life (landline calls, paper calendars, outdated social norms, and a stubborn refusal to engage in social media).
Everything changes when she discovers her cats, Whiskie and Scotch, have secretly learned to play the instruments (piano and theremin) in the club after hours, and are moonlighting as entertainers outside her establishment.
Combining live piano, theremin, and theatrical storytelling, "The Hissy Kits at Ruby Rae’s Hideaway" is an immersive cabaret where illusion and reality blur, thanks to two audacious cats. As the creators of Feline Expressionism®, The Hissy Kits do what they want, when they want.
***Content Warning:** The production includes a theatrical cigarette prop that is never lit. It is not used to simulate smoking. The character holds it in her mouth as a visual affectation or comfort object, rather than engaging in any smoking behavior.*
Presented by Color Club.
Though not a children's show, all ages are welcome.
