About
The Rind is an amalgamation of various local artists, performers, songwriters and musicians drawing from their own individual characteristics to create a truly unique experience -- Arabic funk!
Though the core group of nicholas, Marcus Darling and Mohammed Radwan is generally present, they include many of their friends to create a collaborative, eclectic and engaging night of music. Frequent collaborators include keyboardist Pat Leary, horn and bass player Eric Novak, percussionist Steven Rutledge and more!
They seek to fight the darkness in this world with unabashed joy and rhythm while shining a light on injustices the world over.
The ability to play each other’s songs with new interpretations and by including fully improvisational sessions gives the Rind an air of spontaneity that is impossible to replicate. Even though they may play some of the same songs, each show is entirely different depending on who’s in town, and what instrument they’re playing. Most of the players are multi-instrumentalists so they’re always passing guitars back and forth while hopping to different places on their sprawling stage setup.
